Misconception 1: Digital signage costs too much
This may be a big fear for organizations: digital signage is too expensive. If you do it right, it may look expensive. However, with the right solution, it doesn’t have to be as expensive as it looks!
Netpresenter starts at a low monthly commitment. A high-performance solution can be had for a reasonable sum, as digital signage no longer requires expensive equipment. You can use the hardware you already own! Not just TV screens: desktop or laptop screens across your organization can be used for corporate digital signage.
Our platform enables you to turn literally every and any screen in your organization into an effective digital signage solution, which means there’s no need to spend thousands of dollars on hardware. Your digital signage will still look high-end, but it doesn’t come with the expected price tag.
Misconception 2: Creating content is labor intensive
Perhaps the biggest myth of all! Creating content, keeping it up to date, and managing it may sound like a lot of work. And granted, it can be if you don’t know where to start, are uninspired, have no examples, and don’t know what your audience groups need.
However, modern digital signage solutions are user-friendly, and changes can be made in minutes. Our digital signage solution comes with template packs for a variety of topics. We offer guides and other inspirational resources for digital signage content, as well as tips on making your digital signage content the most effective and appealing to your audience (a.k.a. how to crown yourself Content King).
Additionally, we offer various integrations with your existing tools. The integrations will automatically extract content from the tools your staff already use, such as SharePoint and Power BI, or your social media pages. The platform also enables you to make automations, which generate messages for your digital signage screens by extracting content from third-party sources. Think of industry news, weather forecasts, traffic information, or subway schedules.
Creating content will obviously still result in some work for your IC department. But we’re one hundred percent sure that, once they’re comfortable using Netpresenter, it will result in less work and more productive IC teams than you had before!
Misconception 3: Managing content and keeping it up to date is difficult
Quite the opposite, actually. Modern digital signage platforms and their CMS are usually highly intuitive to use and easy to navigate. Features like scheduling and targeting allow you to keep content relevant and up to date for your audience groups.
Netpresenter is, as our customers agree, ‘intuitive to use’. Our customers say they have trained ‘a group of internal publishers to use it in less than 30 minutes’, so managing your comms isn’t difficult. When you first start using Netpresenter, our consultants and IT Support team will teach you how to use and manage the CMS, so you can immediately start creating and managing content.
Content can be made in batches and scheduled months ahead with our scheduling feature. This means you won’t have to worry about creating it at the very last moment – but it also enables you to create, publish or edit messages in real-time. This can all be done by a single person without prior experience and without interference from your IT department.
Misconception 4: installation will be too complicated
A common misconception: installation and roll-out of your digital signage solution will be very complicated, and IT Support is needed constantly to keep your digital signage up and running. This may have been the case when digital signage first came on the market, but modern digital signage solutions have evolved to be straightforward to install.
For example, with the Netpresenter digital signage solution, installation and roll-out will happen in one to three days (depending on your organization’s specific wishes and the features, tools, and integrations you would like to use). After that, you will be able to manage the platform all by yourself. Read more about how to get started with digital signage in this blog.
Misconception 5: it won’t look good or professional
Some organizations believe they can’t have visually appealing digital signage without involving the graphic design department. Or worse, they don’t have a graphic design department, so they can’t have professional-looking digital signage.
Wrong! When you use a modern communication platform like Netpresenter, it comes with premade templates that are made to make your digital signage look professional and visually appealing. Our premade templates can be adjusted to your liking, but they will always help you achieve that WOW effect you need to draw your staff’s and visitors’ attention.
All you need to do is upload a video, visual, or photo (or choose one from the Free Stock Images library or implemented Giphy library), add a title and text, choose a template, and publish. It will look like your graphic design department just made it when really anybody inside your organization can do it. Now, that’s what you were looking for, right?! Best of all: we use your logo, colors, and fonts for a professional and branded experience for every user.
