Netpresenter
increases turnover with 43% since Q1 2001 and remains profitable.
Also introduces public emergency alert software.
Netpresenter,
May 6th, Maastricht
Maastricht,
the Netherlands, May 3rd, 2002 - Netpresenter, a Dutch software
development company, has introduced new software for public emergency
alert. The events of September 11th have increased demand for
fast-pasted communication applications, of which Netpresenter
is the leading supplier. Meanwhile Netpresenter has announced
a profit increase over its financial year 2001.
On December
31st, 2001, Netpresenter has closed another financial year with
increased profits, after a consecutive profit increase period
as from 1999. The Dutch software developer is heavily focussed
on the international market, deriving 60% of its turnover from
abroad, of which 32% outside the European Union.
The turnover
in the first quarter of 2002 showed a 43% increase against the
same period in 2001. Netpresenter expects to remain profitable
in 2002 while maintaining a steady percentage of growth.
The continuous
growth and profitability of Netpresenter is remarkable given the
fact that the company is 100% privately held, and operates without
any external investors. The only exception has been a loan of
Euro 141,300 from the Dutch Government in 1996, further to a governmental
resolution regarding credit support for developing companies in
the IT market (a.k.a. KREDO).
Netpresenter
has concluded new distribution agreements for the territories
of the United States, Denmark, Singapore and Brazil. Newly acquired
clients in the last quarter include Mars, Canon Europe, TPG Sabic
(formerly DSM Petrochemicals) and International Paper. These acquisitions
generate new revenue streams, next to returning revenues from
a growing number of licenses and long-term support contracts with
existing customers, such as Nokia, Unilever, Mars and Amsterdam
Airport.
Public
Emergency Alert Software And New Content Management Server
The integration
of Netpresenter's internal communication software and XML based
content management servers is the basis of a new line of software
products, expected to generate new revenue streams.
Netpresenter's
new compact XML based content management server, enables executives
to publish news on the company's internal website, and have it
automatically screened on every PC as a screensaver, emergency
pop-up window, cable TV information service or Kiosk. Thanks to
this application companies for the first time have the ability
to directly and actively present information to their employees,
without having to wait for them to visit the Intranet or read
their e-mail.
This easy way of creating news messages and presenting them on
PC's and TV screens, makes the application ideal for public emergency
alert systems. By means of such systems the public can be informed
quickly and efficiently in the event of emergencies in public
areas and buildings. For example, through the system the public
can be informed on how and when to evacuate a building (e.g. shopping
malls, government offices) or an area (e.g. airports, industrial
areas). Especially since the events of September 11th, demand
for these applications is booming. Netpresenter expects the first
public emergency alert software to be installed before June 1st.
